Come try small batch, big time spirits from a grain to glass micro distillery handcrafting their spirits up in Sebastopol, California. - October 26th, 4:30 - 6:30
Spirit Works Gin, $34.50 - Their gin starts with whole grains of organic California winter wheat, which is milled, mashed, fermented and distilled on-site and entirely by hand. This process helps maintain the distinct characteristics of the gin: flavor (slightly sweet) and texture (smooth). It is distilled with juniper berries, to which both old-world and fresh California botanicals are added. Tasting notes of orris, angelica, cardamom, coriander, and orange and lemon citrus help create a balanced, slightly dry, and totally unique gin.
Spirt Works Sloe Gin, $38.50 - What is sloe gin is a question we hear daily. It is technically a berry-infused liqueur made by steeping sloe berries (a plum cousin) in gin and adding a hint of sweetness (so not a gin). In the UK, the production of this liqueur has been part of rural family tradition for centuries. This particular Sloe Gin recipe has been handed down through the Marshall family for generations. This vibrantly-hued liqueur features both berry and citrus notes, combining ripe sweetness with fresh acidity. Typically this is a digestif, but it also serves as a tasty and beautiful addition to your favorite sweetened cocktails, or add it to your gin and tonic for a hint of sweetness.
Spirit Works Vodka, $ 30.50 They have one vodka, and this one vodka, has one ingredient: organic California-grown Hard Red Winter wheat. Originally created for the base of their gin, they decided to bottle this vodka after many requests during early distillery visits. This vodka has sweet caramel and warm earthy notes – like the grain itself – and provides a round mouthfeel and extremely smooth finish. A great sipper or the perfect base for a spice forward cocktail like a moscow mule.
