What else to do with Dry Vermouth - Cocktail Recipes
Dry Vermouth is great in a martini, and good on ice or with fizzy, but then what?
The dry vermouth cocktail options aren't limited to clear spirits. A great classic dark spirit cocktail to modify is a Manhattan - the warm whiskey notes still shine through, but the lovely botanical notes inherent to dry vermouth give the cocktail a fresh twist.
By subbing dry vermouth for sweet vermouth and adding a little flavored simple syrup you can maintain the same spirit to sweetness balance in a classic Manhattan, while adding in new fun flavors. One of our favorite flavored simples is Raft Syrup’s Smoked Tea Vanilla which adds woody-herbal and vanilla flavors, notes that complement any whiskey.
When adding bitters to a cocktail we like to decide if we want to enhance existing flavors in the drink or complement with a different flavor. In this case, we are going with enhancing with Dr. Adams Teapot Bitters which helps pull things together and amplify the tea flavors.
