Dulce Vida 100 Proof B&B Single Barrel Select Anejo Tequila
For our first exclusive bottling of Barrel Aged tequila, we are excited to share a selection from Dulce Vida’s Select Barrel Anejo Project. The tequila hails from the village of San Ignacio Cerro Gordo at The Distillery Campanario. All levels of production are kept “in house” with their team actively engaged in every detail, from harvest through distillation & aging. They utilize 100% organic Blue Weber agave from the southern highland region of Los Altos in Jalisco Mexico, which tends to yield more fruit forward agave.
Bright notes of caramel apple blend seamlessly with hints of grilled pineapple and crème brulee, fall flavors with a dash of something tropical. The specific barrel for this private bottling previously held Beam distillery bourbon, and the resulting tequila is not shy about its time in the barrel, with the American oak influence coating your palate with deeply concentrated and sweet notes of vanilla pudding and butterscotch, before the roasted and fruity agave emerges mid palate, everything coming together on the long, mildly spiced finish. Bottled at 50% abv, a higher proof that is particularly unusual to find for a barrel aged tequila, we love how remarkably gentle its bold flavor sips. While Anejo tequilas can be as young as one year, this barrel was aged for a full 29 months before being bottled. One to be enjoyed by tequila and bourbon connoisseurs alike, with every bottle individually numbered by hand.
