El Presidente Cocktail Kit

A nearly forgotten gem of yesteryear, once served alongside the Daiquiri and Mojito in pre-revolution Havana. It drinks like the humid, languid Caribbean answer to the Manhattan, and in our updated version, can go head to head with that drink in terms of elegance and drinkability. A nice, crisp and dry but assertive white rum is at the center, bolstered by blanc vermouth (many less successful interpretations had for years used dry vermouth - a misinterpretation of what "French Vermouth" meant to the Cuban bartenders who first documented it). The secret sauce comes in with miniscule measurements (just a barspoon each) of both real grenadine and orange curacao, plus a couple dashes of orange bitters. A superb drink that belongs in your strong and stirred repertoire, especially for Rum lovers.
