135 East Hyogo Dry Gin from The Kaikyo Distillery is named for the Akashi Meridian, which runs past the distillery in Akashi city at 135 degrees east longitude. It boasts a boatload of Japanese botanicals, with cedar wood, shiso leaf, chrysanthemum, sansho pepper, and yuzu! Citrus and spice intertwine beautifully in this fragrant gin.
Bottled at 42% ABV. Each botanical is sourced from local farmers or specialized vendors then distilled separately to preserve the botanicals’ characteristics. This process allows better control of the final blending process when sake spirit is added. Once distilled, the gin has a typical soft sweetness that gently entwines and harmonizes the five Japanese botanicals.
