Produced each year in limited quantities since it's introduction in 1963, the Chartreuse V.E.P. is made using the same processes as the traditional Chartreuse Verte, but aged from 8-20 years instead of the standard 3-5. The Carthusians took care to select certain traditional green liqueurs which will continue to age for many years in demi-muids (600 liter oak barrels traditionally used in the Rhone Valley for aging wine). The patina of time allows it to develop aromas of great complexity and long persistence. Bottled at 54% abv.
