Julien Braud is the producer of this wine from France’s Loire region. The grapes are a blend of 58 percent Gamay, 33 percent Merlot, 10 percent Cabernet franc and a four percent pinch of pineau d’aunis. This is a pretty serious rosé with a vibrant pink hue laced with gorgeous flavors of white cherries and strawberry with a hint of marjoram. The palate is full for a rosé and keeps on going. Julien uses organic and biodynamic practices in all of his winemaking and makes sure that all the fruit he uses for the “Forty” is farmed using sustainable practices. Just sweet enough to feel like a treat without coming off overly sweet or heavy.
