The second edition of Knob Creek cask strength rye, this takes their already award winning rye whiskey, and showcases it uncut, at full barrel strength, in this case 63.5% abv.
The nose finds cinnamon, confectionary sweetness, white pepper, green apple, and honey all sitting above a fiery bunch of red hot candies. The proof is very apparent. This is not for the faint of heart, but rather a big spicy rye for big spicy rye people. The cinnamon and pepper carry through on the palate, along with a snickerdoodle sweetness, burnt espresso, and green apple. It's oily, medium bodied, and tingly spicy throughout. The finish has a wonderful dirty, farm-y, earthy element, alongside menthol and more cinnamon.
