Springbank first distilled its heavily peated malt, Longrow, in 1973, naming it for a closed distillery that used to operate just next door to Springbank. It was originally intended to provide a peaty, oily and robust component to blends, but ever since the launch of a 10-year-old Longrow in 1985 it has become popular as a single malt as well. This single cask Longrow matured for 21 years in a fresh rum barrel, and was bottled in 2022 for the Société Dugas in France. Bottled at 40.1% abv.
