Umeshu Barrel aged Whiskey, not seen since Mosswood's spring 2016 release, was the debut of an umeshu washed whiskey. Mosswood loves the whiskey from Japan matured with this whiskey technique, so they couldn't resist their own expression using their own in-house umeshu (plum-wine).
A nose that is very floral, almost perfumed. Those flowers give way to a body that is lightly tart and full of fruit — plum and otherwise — with added notes of fresh ginger, honey, red wine vinegar, and a finish that leaves notes of vanilla-heavy sugar cookies and milk chocolate on the tongue.
