Pineau des Charentes is a fortified wine legendarily invented by a Cognac producer dumping grape must into a barrel he thought was empty, but actually contained eau de vie left from the previous year. The accidental mix then fermented and matured until it was discovered years later. Primarily made from Ugni Blanc and Colombard, though Red and Rose expressions do exist. The Paul-Marie line is selected by PM Spirits founder Nicolas Palazzi, whose close relationships with artisanal producers allow him to acquire the most highly desirable casks. Each cask is tasted multiple times to ensure quality. Each bottling is extremely limited, released as single casks, one at a time, with each bottle numbered by hand. The Paul-Marie line offers a unique look at this underdog spirit, with the richness and rarity of fine port, and the brightness and acidity of Alpine dessert wines. Aged 4 Years.
