Penelope Four Grain Barrel Strength "Batch SB-01" Bourbon
Penelope Bourbon is distilled and aged in Indiana at MGP, before being expertly blended in Castle Rock, Kentucky. The barrel strength bottling has earned a Double Gold from the SF Spirits Competition and a 93 Points from Wine Enthusiast.
Barrel Strength pushes the boundaries of the signature four grain balanced flavor profile. Batch 7 is blended from three bourbon mash bills aged 3.5 – 5 years in new American oak barrels and completely uncut and non chill-filtered. The final mash bill after blending is 74% corn, 16% wheat, 7% rye, and 3% barley. Each barrel was hand selected and blended into a single batch in order to create this unique offering.
The aroma shows sweet caramel with a hints of maple syrup and candied sweetness, followed by caramel syrup, brown sugar, subtle barrel char, and hints of butterscotch and
crème brûlée. On the palate, cinnamon, barrel char, and maple syrup come together for a big, sweet, oaky, and spicy show, leaving you with hints of spices and red hots. Bottled at 57.9% abv.
