The name "Piùcinque", which means "plus five" in Italian, comes from the first recipe that was used to create the gin. Once the ten botanicals were chosen, their intensity was perfected. After analyzing different combinations, one had the perfect alchemy. That bottle was tagged by the master distiller with the wording "plus five" (as five of the ten botanicals had greater intensity). Along with juniper look for sage, bergamot, and ginger flavors to stand out.
