Plantation Fiji 2011 Linie Finish Single Cask Rum
This pot still molasses rum was aged in its home in Fiji for seven years in ex-bourbon casks, before being purchased by Maison Ferrand and transported to France, where it aged a further year and a half in Cognac casks. Being part of Plantation single cask collection, it is then subject to tertiary aging in barrels that previously held Linie Aquavit from Norway. For the four months it spent in these aquavit casks, it was transported around the world by boat, with constant jostling and changing climate to further enhance the process alongside the character imparted by the caraway heavy aquavit. The rum was bottled at 48.6% abv, with 4 grams per liter of added sugar, or dosage.
