This second iteration of Sagamore's Rum Cask Finish Rye Whiskey takes their 5- and 6-year-old straight rye whiskies and ages them in hand-selected barrels from South America and Jamaica for an additional 10 months and then blends them back together. The Jamaican rum barrels contribute notes of tropical fruit, balanced by the rich vanilla and brûléed sugar character of the South American rum barrels-a unique combination enhancing the spice of the rye. Additional tasting notes include demerara sugar, ripe banana, passion fruit, spice pineapple, vanilla, fried floras, peanut brittle, and cinnamon bark with a peppery finish. Bottled at 49% abv.
