This limited edition bottling of the Real McCoy pays cheeky homage to the 100 year anniversary of the dark and dry American experiment that was Prohibition. Of course the irony here is that what was so bad for most quality booze in America was great for Bill McCoy, the labels namesake, who took that opportunity to make his reputation bootlegging high quality, unadulterated rum from the Caribbean. For this 100 year anniversary edition, their 12 year is bottled at a stellar, full and toothsome 100 proof, the highest proof bottling to date from the Real McCoy. As always, this is a true 12 year, tropically aged blend of pot and column still rums from the beloved Foursquare distillery in Barbados, bottled without any additives, sweeteners, flavorings, etc. Pure, genuine rum... the Real McCoy. The nose will be familiar to fans of previous releases, but just so much more of everything: aromas of spicy oak and rich dark chocolate, and a palate of salted toffee, oak spice, stone fruits, orange zest, tobacco, French vanilla and cracked black pepper, with a hint of smoke in the finish.
