This whisky is made from 100% malted barley, including whisky sourced from Scotland and the Virginia distillery's own whisky. The finishing casks formerly held port-style wine produced in Virginia. Bottled at 92 proof, this is the distillery's flagship whisky. A potpourri of red fruit (raspberry, currant, cherry), tangerine, caramel, honey, and marzipan.
"With a color striking the difference between a young whisky and a ruby-toned wine this malt shows decadent red currant and baked berry flavors on a backbone of toasted cereal malt. The palate shows a nice balance of spicy red fruit and sweet barley cake. The finish offers a wisp of smoke and dried grape." -John Rankin
