Westland Silver City Cask Exchange #3 Single Malt Whiskey
A majority of the pre-finish spirit was 5-malt that followed a run of heavily peated. The peat precedent provides a delicate smoke thickly insulated by maltiness. This whiskey is a walk through a soupy malt fog—good luck finding your way out. Nose: Creamsicle, boiled wort, waffle cone, light smoke. Palate: Ovaltine, cooked apple, dry pine, ash.
Cask Exchange #3 was made in partnership with Silver City Brewery. 1,130 bottles were released, after 53 months of aging, bottled at 51.2% abv. Barley bill is 5-malt, Washington Select Pale Malt. Cask types were 4 Ex-Westland (Big Magnificent Bastard Scotch
Ale) and 1 Ex-Westland (Fat Woody Scotch Ale).
