Woody Creek is one of the few distilleries in the country to control every aspect of the production, from growing their own rye all the way through to bottling. For their rye, that means fermenting a 100% rye mash, distilling it in their CARL Pot Still from Germany, and aging in new American white oak barrels for at least four years before bottling at 45% abv. Presents an earthy, sweet bouquet with notes of orange, cinnamon, and butterscotch. On the palate, rye spice is evident on the initial attack with caramel, oak, and a slight pine flavor. Well-rounded, incredibly welcoming, and engaging.
