The 2022 Limited Edition from Yellowstone is a blend of seven, fifteen, and sixteen year old bourbons finished in Marsala Superiore (a dry Italian dessert wine) casks. The blend is bottled at 101 proof without filtering or added color. A decadent nose suggests crème brulee, pancakes with real maple syrup, and vanilla bean with black pepper and cinnamon spice in the background. On the palate, the older bourbon shines through, presenting sweet oak, barrel char, and tobacco that leads into a sweeter midpalate of caramel and apple crisp. The finish brings back the sweet oak along with crème brulee and dark brown sugar.
