Widow Jane "Decadence" 10 Year Bourbon

Maple cask finished bourbons have emerged as a favorite new category over the last few years, meeting our need for breakfast for dinner with an adult twist. The rich caramel and vanilla imparted by American oak are reflected and enhanced by the maple tree's sap, while also adding complex flavors of butterscotch, cinnamon, burnt sugar, and a touch of sweetness to mellow the alcohol. The releases up to now have been tasty, but most of them polish up a younger or medium aged whiskey. Leave it to Widow Jane to double down on quality and indulgence in their aptly-named Decadence release, taking as the base their beloved 10 Year Small Batch Bourbon. They turned to Crown Maple for the partnership, who crafts estate-produced maple syrup from their 800-acre organic maple farm in New York's Hudson Valley, known for their robust profile with notes of graham cracker, toffee, brown butter, toasted pecans, and warm spice.

The result is a rich, creamy-smooth & slightly sweet mouthful of whiskey. Incredible on its own. Pairs well with bacon. Bottled at 45.5% abv.
