Shipping
Alcohol Shipping
Shipping rates are determined by the number of items and distance, resetting after 9 standard bottles (the maximum for a single box). Additional charges may apply for specific carriers, heavier items, or orders that ship in multiple boxes.
UPS Access Point: Flat $12.99 charge (available for West Coast orders only).
Original Packaging: Items are shipped as photographed. To receive original packaging (gift tins, boxes, etc.), please request in the special instructions field at checkout. Additional charges may apply.
Restrictions:
- Cannot ship to P.O. Boxes, APO/FPO addresses, or locations without adult signature capability
- Shipping availability varies by state—check available destinations at checkout
- Adult signature (21+) with valid ID is always required at delivery
Bar Supplies Shipping (Non-Alcoholic Items)
Bar supplies ship anywhere in the United States for the carrier-calculated rate.
Processing Time
Orders are typically processed within 1-3 business days after payment approval and compliance verification. Processing times may be longer during peak seasons or promotional periods.
Important Shipping Requirements
Address Accuracy: You are responsible for providing complete and accurate shipping information. Please verify your address carefully before submitting your order. You will be charged for any additional carrier fees resulting from incorrect addresses, delivery redirects, or requests to hold packages.
Delivery Attempts: Carriers typically make multiple delivery attempts. If delivery cannot be completed after all attempts, the package may be returned to us or held at a carrier facility.
Returned Shipment Fee: If an order is returned after multiple delivery attempts or canceled after it has shipped, a $40 returned shipment fee (or 20% of order total, whichever is greater) will be charged.
Local Delivery
Local delivery is available for San Francisco and select Peninsula cities for a $10 delivery fee. The order minimum for local deliveries is $50.

Scheduling:
- By default, deliveries are scheduled for the next day
- Deliveries can be scheduled up to 7 days in advance during checkout
- Deliveries are made between Noon and 3 PM daily
- A tracking link with delivery ETA will be sent by text when delivery is booked with our courier partner
Delivery Requirements:
- An adult over 21 must be present to accept the delivery with valid ID
- If the courier is unable to complete the delivery, a $25 returned delivery fee will be charged
Store Pickup
Order online and collect in person by choosing Store Pickup during checkout.
Pickup Window: Store Pickup orders will be held for 14 days. After this period, if arrangements have not been made and the purchaser cannot be reached, the order will be canceled and a store credit will be issued, minus a 10% restocking fee.
Order Changes & Cancellations
To Change Address or Cancel: Email us immediately at hello@bittersandbottles.com with your order number.
Cancellation Policy:
- Cancellations are only honored if the order has not yet shipped
- Orders canceled after payment is processed are subject to a 10% restocking fee ($10 minimum)
- Once an order has shipped, it cannot be canceled
Address Changes After Shipping:
- If your order has already shipped, a rerouting fee will be charged to cover the carrier's address change costs
- You are responsible for all carrier fees related to redirects or delivery holds
Returns & Refunds
Return Policy
Due to the nature of alcoholic beverages and regulatory requirements, returns are only accepted for:
- Damaged products (with photographic evidence within 48 hours of delivery)
- Incorrect items shipped (our error)
- Defective or spoiled products
By law, alcohol sales are final. We cannot accept returns of alcohol for reasons other than damage, defect, or shipping errors.
Bar Supplies: May be returned or exchanged within 30 days.
How to Report Damaged Items
If items are damaged in transit:
- Note damage on the delivery receipt when accepting delivery
- Photograph the damaged packaging and products
- Email us at hello@bittersandbottles.com within 48 hours with your order number, photos, and description
- Request a refund or replacement
Claims Deadline: Claims for damaged or missing items must be submitted within 48 hours of delivery. Claims after this period may not be honored.
Refund Processing: Refunds are processed within 5-10 business days of receiving and inspecting the returned shipment. Refunds are issued to the original payment method and will exclude original shipping charges, any return fees, restocking fees, and carrier surcharges.
Damaged Returns: If products are returned damaged or unsellable due to circumstances beyond our control, we may reduce the refund amount proportionally or deny the refund.

We do our best to update listings with current vintage and batch details. If you are interested in a specific vintage or batch, please check with us before ordering.
Store Credits
Store credits expire one year after date of issue.
