Ventura Spirits is a California micro distillery specializing in innovative craft spirits inspired by California's central coast. Ventura takes ugly strawberries that are still sound and usable fruit, ferment them and distill them into their California Vodka. To date, they have saved about 500 thousand pounds of ugly strawberries that would have gone to waste. Ventura California Vodka, $27.50 - California Vodka is the only vodka in the world made from strawberries. Ventura Strawberry Brandy, $37.50 - Distilled from California strawberries whose imperfections kept them off store shelves, their one-of-a-kind brandy is aged for two years in neutral French oak casks. The result is a dry character with a lovely strawberry aroma and notes of honey and dried fruit. It's their way of using surplus produce to create something sustainable and delicious. Opuntia Prickly Pear Brandy, $44.50 - Made from the fruit of the Nopal cactus. Its flavor is as singular as tequila’s, an invigorating balance of fresh fruit and desert earth that is all its own. Over a ton of sun-ripened California fruit is fermented into wine and then distilled in each batch.
