Our Story
For the Curious Drinker
Bitters & Bottles opened in South San Francisco in 2013 with a simple idea: the curious drinker deserves a shop as interesting as their palate. Owners Joe Barwin and Meredith Lantz set out to build something rare—a spirit shop with an extensive selection of unique distillates, complete shopping convenience, and warm, knowledgeable service. They build out shops designed to be as inviting and beautiful as the spirits they contain.
We believe finding the perfect bottle shouldn’t require knowing the right person or paying a premium. We’re just people who genuinely love what we sell, sharing it with people who love to drink well.

A New Chapter in NoPa
In 2025, we joined the community of Falletti Plaza, anchoring ourselves in one of the most vibrant food- and drink-loving neighborhoods in San Francisco. We’re so happy to be right in the middle of the city, offering an easy stop for our SF and North Bay friends alike.
Driving to see us? The Falletti Plaza parking lot is free for all customers and easily accessible from either Fell or Broderick Street.
Best of all? The bottles aren’t just for looking at. We host in-store tastings most Fridays and Saturdays, so stop by and discover your next favorite pour with us.
