Shenk's Homestead 2026 Sour Mash Whiskey

The 2026 release of Shenk's Homestead features caramel malted barley in the mash and was aged in a combination of 24 month air dried French oak and 60 month air dried American Oak before bottling at 91.2 proof. The nose is dominated by caramel, toasted oak, and campfire marshmallows with light baking spice notes in the background. On the palate those toasted oak and marshmallow flavors are prominent and joined by flavors of baking spice, slightly herbal rye, and a light fruitiness. The medium length finish features cool rye and warm baking spice with caramel running through both flavors.
