Creetown Dailuaine 14 Year Calvados Finish Single Malt Scotch

Dailuaine Distillery is a Speyside stalwart that is almost exclusively used as the backbone of some famous blends (Johnny Walker) and is very rarely bottled as a single malt. This is a shame, because the distillery produces a lovely waxy, rich, and sweet malt using a combination of long fermentation times, wooden washbacks, and shell and tube condensers. This release of only 305 bottles was distilled in March of 2011 and matured for over 11 years in an ex-Bourbon hogshead cask before being re-barreled into an ex-Calvados cask for a further 2+ years of finishing. All in all, the whisky spent 14 years in barrels before bottling without chill filtration or color added at 108.6 proof.
