Working in collaboration with Tonnellerie Radoux of France, the market leader in oak barrel manufacturing and innovation, Penelope uses French oak staves and a state-of-the-art OakScan® process to build a truly precise flavor profile within every bottle. The whiskey is made from a mash of 75% corn, 21% rye, and 4% malted barley, is aged for a minimum of 4 years, and is bottled at 104 proof.
The nose is sweet candied cream and florals with hints of crème brûlée. The palate follows with creamy sweetness from the forward notes and into the body, with herbal, floral notes behind and a sweet toasted vanilla finish.
