Autumnal drinking is a wonderful thing because of the necessary balancing act between the excitable bright flavors of summer and the contemplative, warming, and complex flavors that tend to be ushered in come winter. That balance is one of the defining features of Brucato's Orchards amaro, with the brighter aperitivo elements of bitter orange and meyer lemon balanced by walnut, cinnamon, and apricot. That autumnal character is highlighted here by the dark, molasses-laden, and slightly funky notes of Plantation's original dark rum and Bittercube's molasses and baking spice bomb that is their Blackstrap Bitters. Representing perhaps the last hurrah of summer energy, an unusually small measure of lemon juice is stirred in (not shaken!) to brighten the affair and bring out the brighter notes of the amaro. Includes one 750 ml bottle of Brucato Orchards Amaro, one 750 ml bottle of Plantation Original Dark, one 5 oz bottle of Bittercube Blackstrap Bitters, and a recipe card.
