The Bijou is a troubled cocktail, so promising with its ingredients - Gin (Yay!), Sweet Vermouth (Classic, who can deny it?), and Green Chartreuse (Oh La La Magnifique!), yet so unfortunately muddled when mixed. It reads like a less bitter, more herbal Negroni on paper, but never quite comes off that way in the glass. The original form, all equal parts, is clearly too cloyingly sweet, but even when adjusting ratios to suit modern palates, we could never find a way to really make it shine.
Kit includes: Cocchi Americano Aperitif (750 ml), Bordiga Centum Herbis Liqueur (700 ml), Condesa Clasica Gin (750 ml), Jack Rudy Bourbon Cocktail Cherries (13.5 oz)
