Bitter Truth Chocolate Bitters

Bought this to combine with black walnut bitters, rye whiskey, and banana liqueur to make a banana nut cocktail. Fantastic flavor. No expert in reviewing these things, but I’m glad I went for this stuff.

These are, far and away, the best and most interesting chocolate bitters I've tried to date. For comparison, I own bottles of Fee Brothers Aztec Chocolate Bitters, and Scrappy's Chocolate Bitters, and I've tried the Bittermen's Xocotal Bitters in a few cocktails at good cocktail bars. The Bitter Truth Spiced Cocktail bitters are more complex and much more aromatic than any of the other varieties I've sampled. They can stand along sufficiently as an aromatic bitter in any dark-spirit-based drink in which one might be adventurous enough to try these as a substitution. They work wonders in a Boulevardier and the Speak Easy cocktail, and they make a nice alternative in a classic Manhattan when the weather turns cold. Save yourself time and money: buy these spiced chocolate bitters, and you'll never need to try another chocolate bitter ever again.
