Product details
Antica Formula is made with white wines from a variety of Italian grapes grown in Romagna, Puglia, and Sicily. The wines are processed within 24 hours of arrival to prevent oxidation. Its many aromatic botanicals are prepared through hot infusion or cold extraction in an exceptionally precise and lengthy process, with some ingredients requiring several months of preparation. Once combined, the plants and herbs undergo an additional refining period that may last several months, allowing their fragrances and flavors to fully integrate.
Antica Formula is distinguished by its unique bouquet and unmistakable notes of premium vanilla from Madagascar, Papua New Guinea, and Tahiti. Only whole vanilla beans—not derivatives—are used in the recipe. The high-quality saffron comes primarily from Iran’s plateau regions, while wormwood, vermouth’s essential ingredient, is gathered exclusively in the Alps of Piedmont and the Aosta Valley.
A pronounced vanilla bouquet is complemented by notes of spice, citrus, almonds, raisins, and cloves. The palate is rich and well-rounded, with vanilla carrying through from the nose alongside flavors of bitter orange, dates, cocoa beans, and saffron. Enjoy it on its own as a digestif or as a central ingredient in a cocktail.

The big daddy! The King of Vermouth!
My ‘Go to’ sweet vermouth.
tried a few others and came back to the reliable one
A friend recently introduced me to Bitters and Bottles and I’ve awakened to another world of cocktailing. This vermouth is head and shoulders above what I was using before and makes the drink so much richer in taste. Thinking this was my third bottle.
After trying many vermouths we've landed on this as the best all around. It's the go to for Manhattans and Negronis
The best sweet vermouth for Negronis and other classic cocktails. Balanced, with delicious vanilla bean on the palate. Keep in the fridge once opened!
Carpano Antica is the best sweet vermouth I’ve come across- herbaceous and not too sweet. Good in a Negroni, Manhattan or even just for sipping on the rocks. Love this stuff and would buy again.
A chilled 4 to 1 mix ratio with a quality bourbon and a few dashes of Angustra bitters is top shelf heaven. It's the best you're going to get. Period.
Carpano Antica and its added vanilla flavor plays well in combination with smokier or bolder flavors to bring balance to cocktails. It makes for an excellent companion to Campari in an Americano as well.
We’ve been having some trouble finding the right pairing for the Bruto Americano bitters we recently purchased, and switching to this vermouth was the perfect move. Thanks guys!
The only vermouth I reach for when making a Manhattan.
Best vermouth for Vieux Carre!
I'm going to say it - this Vermouth is flat out required for making a great Manhattan. Don't buy it and mix at your own peril!
Generously rich, fantastic silky texture, and a big dollop of vanilla that pairs perfectly with whiskey (that body and flavor are particularly nice with rye!)
Best in negroni's, manhattan's or any other cocktail that requires sweet vermouth.
