Castle & Key Restoration Rye Whiskey

Distilled at the revived and renovated Old Taylor Distillery in Frankfort, KY, Restoration Rye is Castle and Key Distilling’s flagship rye whiskey.  The whiskey is made from a mash bill of 63% rye, 17% corn, 20% malted barley and released in three batches each year.  

Batch #3 of 2022 is bottled at 106 proof and aged for at least three years.  The nose presents scents of fresh rye bread, cinnamon toast, orange blossom, and fruit leather.  Flavors of caramel, rye spice, orange, and mint greet the palate before the barley announces itself with a malty, nutty, and spicy finish.  The proof point works well for sipping or mixing, and the extra malted barley in the mash makes for a unique and delicious rye.
