Cobrafire 'Evil Force' Cask Strength (Armagnac) Brandy
This cask strength blend of six different casks, each distilled by Domaine D'Esperance, is an extension of the Cobrafire brand, which started with their unaged cask strength bottling, eschewing the 'Armagnac' label in favor of "Eau-de-Vie de Raisin". Whether or not that category takes off is yet to be seen, but we can attest to the delicious quality of Domain D'Esperance's distillate, even without any time in oak. This time, however, Cobrafire, still resisting the precise Armagnac terminology, resembles a traditional Armagnac even more, having spent time in oak (between 6 and 22 years), but definitely earns its brand name with its intense, flavor explosion profile.
Made from five barrels of Folle Blanche grapes, and one of Baco, the fruity floral intensity is front and center, enhanced in the spice and vanilla department by the oak, but never overwhelmed by it. Bottled at 51.9% abv.
