Ferrand's 1840 Original Formula was inspired by the cognacs used in 19th century cocktails. Master Blender Alexandre Gabriel enlisted the help of cocktail historian David Wondrich to create a richer, livelier, and higher proof cognac to stand up to mixing and diluting. The nose presents beautiful aromas of white flowers, orange, peach and honey. A full-bodied palate offers notes of bitter orange peel, stone fruit flavors, and lingering vanilla and oak. Bottled at 90 proof.

This has been my go-to for cognac in cocktails. Very nice for the price point.
Excellent value for money, makes a delicious sidecar.
For me this cognac ticks all the boxes - great nose, lovely flavor, and plays well with other liquors in a cocktail. I am not super knowledgeable about cognac, but for me this tastes good and can really bring something beautiful to a recipe!
I love this cognac for cognac based cocktails. It is smooth, and plays well with others. It is my go-to for one of my favorites... The Challenger Deep.
This is an awesome choice if you might sip or you might make a cocktail. It does both. I prefer it in cocktails because that citrus and peach mix really well in a lot of drinks. I keep buying this same bottle over and over, but it is so good.
