- Surprisingly versatile it is with any spirit forward drink as a sweetener.
- It smells like fresh banana, and tastes like it too, without being overly sweet.

Great ripe banana liqueur, not overly sweet
This is a great banana liqueur for making tiki drinks. The nose is rich with ripe bananas, the flavour outperforms all the others including tempus.
Love this stuff. High quality, not too sweet. Made a smokey banana with mezcal, rum and this banana liquor, over ice.. next I may add a tiny bit of coconut cream.
Delish
This Banana liqueur goes really well with rum, whiskey, and tequila. Also makes great flip when used with brandy.
Try this with any spirit forward drink as a sweetener and you will be surprised how versatile it is.
If you're looking for a more candy-like banana sweetness component to your cocktails, this is it. Unlike the Tempus Fugit which stands moreso on its own, Giffard comes across to me as a preferred ingredient in tiki drinks!
This is a great product! It's not quite fresh banana, but not quite stewed/rotten banana either. It's got depth because it does span both of those domains of banana, and plays really nicely with aged spirits -- rum and whiskey. I imagine it can also do really great to balance a smoky cocktail with mezcal or peaty Scotch.
Wonderful with rum but goes well in many whiskey pairings as well. I have to admit that I also like it alone for sipping its that good.
I mix this with a lot of Whiskey and it pairs so well
This is fantastic for tiki drinks, of course, but also great in small doses in plenty of non-tiki drinks.
This is a nice, light creme du banane, but for my money I prefer the danker, more syrupy expression from Tempus Fugit, also carried at Bitters and Bottles.
I bought this for one cocktail specifically, but have found myself adding it to all different drinks with a tropical feel. Such a fun liqueur for tiki drinks. A great addition to my collection.
Amazing flavour that can stand up in mixed drinks, tiki drinks and the like. Several nights have enjoyed a Banana Cow as well (half half,Giffard Banana Liqueur, and a shot of rum. A little cinnamon on top as well) as a nice bedtime treat.
I got this bottle after noticing that it went into about half of the cocktails at my favorite bar (some are fruity cocktails, but also several are savory and spicy cocktails). A large amount adds a delicious caramelized banana flavor, while a little adds a complex sweetness.
The aroma of this fine liqueur is pure banana--slightly overripe, as if you saved a few from your bunch to make banana bread. It works perfectly for an adult banana daiquiri. Not the slushy, frozen kind, but a sophisticated daiquiri supplement with 1/2 ounce of this stuff.
Well crafted excellence.
I had wished for a more *fresh* banana flavor. This liqueur is more like carmelized banana - but really excellent. I used it to make a Banana Sazerac, or “Bananarac”. The recipe is from that incredibly useful book “Cocktail Codex”. https://www.amazon.com/Cocktail-Codex-Fundamentals-Formulas-Evolutions/dp/160774970X/ref=sr_1_1crid=32GBWYA86FEWQkeywords=cocktail codexqid=1553196610s=gatewaysprefix=cocktail codex,aps,182sr=8-1
2 oz Rittenhouse Rye
1/2 oz Cognac (can't remember the one)
1/2 oz Giffard Banane du Brésil
1 tsp Demerara Gum Syrup
1 shake Angostura bitters
4 shakes Peychaud’s Bitters
stir all ingredients with ice til well-chilled
strain into rocks glass that has been either sprayed or rinsed with Absinthe
no garnish
this is a great drink! (but I'd reduce the demerara syrup to 1/2 tsp)
Too many banana liqueurs taste obviously fake. This one does not. It smells like fresh banana, and tastes like it too, without being overly sweet (though it is sweet.) It makes for an amazing addition to rum drinks, even a manhattan, I would even imagine it would be great poured over a simple bowl of vanilla ice cream.
