From Vallejo, CA's Savage and Cooke, located on historic Mare Island, Guero is a line of well-aged, uncut whiskies sourced from around the country. For this 14 year bottling, the whiskey comes from Indiana's MGP, aging partially there and then further at Savage and Cooke. Not strictly speaking a bourbon, this 99% corn, 1% malted barley mashbill is a "light whiskey", distilled to a slightly higher proof than traditional bourbon and aged in used casks, which allows a subtler aging over a long period of time without overdoing the oak influence. Only 300 cases produced. Rich and dense with toasty oak, vanilla bean and baked apple. Velvety smooth texture, indulgent and packed with flavor on the long finish. Bottled at 64% abv.
