Heaven Hill Grain to Glass Chinquapin Oak Wheated Bourbon

This Limited Edition Specialty Barrel release from Heaven Hill's Grain to Glass line uses Chinquapin Oak barrels for maturation. Distilled from a mash of 52% corn*, 35% wheat, and 13% malted barley, the whiskey was aged for seven years before bottling without chill filtration at 105 proof. On the nose, brown sugar and cinnamon are joined by rich red fruits and charred oak. The palate is surprisingly fruit forward with spiced red fruit and strawberry jam flavors followed by butterscotch, vanilla, and a touch of coffee. The jammy fruit notes continue through a medium finish where they are joined by cinnamon and oak.
