Product details
Made by Heaven Hill Distillery, the Henry McKenna 10 Year Single Barrel is a Bottled-In-Bond Bourbon, aged 10 years, with each bottle bearing both the bottling date and the barrel number. Known as a rye-drinker's bourbon, it's big, bold, and spicy, a great sipper on its own, and a fantastic base for an Old Fashioned. Distinct spicy aromas followed closely by mint, orange peel, and Nilla Wafers. On first taste, you get classic bourbon flavors of caramel, toffee, and vanilla, then the rye kicks in with mint, wood spice, and citrus. Bone dry with a long finish and charcoal undertones.
Announced as the “Best in Show Whiskey” at the 2019 San Francisco World Spirits Competition, only the second time a Bourbon has won the top prize amongst all whiskeys from around the world, including Scotch. Demand skyrocketed immediately, and it's been in short supply ever since.

This is a tasty whiskey. 10 years bottled in bond gives it some nice oaky sweetness and good mouthfeel with a tasteful bite of barrel char. I did find it tough to nail down what the notes are though, as each time I opened the bottle I got a different profile. Often it had this very nice toasty-savory peanut brittle flavor, but sometimes it was just a little harsh. I would recommend this to those who are curious and up for a slightly challenging but rewarding bottle.
I first had this bourbon in a flight with Weller 12 and Wild Turkey Rare Breed and it was my least favorite of the three. But now when sipping it by itself I’ve grown to really enjoy the flavors of this bourbon. Thanks BandB for getting this back in stock.
Worth the try, I found the McKenna fine yet have had and currently having other bourbons at that price point or near more interesting and with flavor character to what is described.
It’s a perfectly balanced bourbon. It has an aroma of vanilla, caramel, oak and a light herbaceous note. The mouthfeel is smooth and the taste is the perfect combination of spicy and sweet. Henry Mckenna Single Barrel has a long, sweet and spicy finish.
One of my favorite bottles to enjoy!
This a very nice bottle of bourbon. Nose is sweet corn and a little wood. Opening is more of the same with a nice hotness rounded by bit of spice. Lovely!
Like many, I only found out about this after it won Best in Show. Blanton's is still my all around favorite but this one give it a run for its money for half the price. Pretty amazing if you can find it, now that all us Johnny-come-latelys want it.
This was a solid purchase. There's a lot on the nose and pallet. Excellent mouth feel. It was really enjoyable. I'll drink this bottle slowly until I can get another one. If you get the chance to purchase one, do it.
Starts out with a kick and mellows into its flavors. Very nicely balanced and nice sipping whiskey.
Thanks to Bitters and Bottles I was finally able to get my hands on the bourbon. Outstanding for the price...if you have not tried it give it a shot. Great value for the cost.
For a 10 year bourbon, you won’t find a better value. Rich and strong like how it should be. The alcohol smell is strong on the nose but the palate is much smoother than you’d think. Recommend.
It's easy to understand why this keeps on winning awards - a great bourbon from Heaven Hill.
To find a 10-year bottled in bond bourbon for this price is crazy. McKenna single barrel is one of the best "drinkers" out there, if not the best. It's a favorite, and Bitters & Bottles has it at a great price!
