Isaac Bowman Port Barrel Finished Bourbon

This is my favorite Bourbon.

Pleasantly surprised. I wasn’t expecting much at this price point, but glad I made the purchase.

Overall I like the sweet port flavors on this bottle. However, the base spirit seems pretty youthful to me, and the port overlay finishes with a tannic bite. It feels like they're not fully integrated. I could see this being great with another year or two of age on it, but as it stands it left me a little disappointed. That said, the price is spectacular for a port finished bourbon from a good distillery and I can forgive some seams on this bourbon for under $35.

For the price it's excellent.

This is a terrific bottle for the $, anyone that likes their small batch or single barrel should definitely also try this port barrel finish.

I recommend this to those who like the sweeter bourbons as the port barrels sweetened this one up.
