An elegant whiskey in an elegant bottle, for those looking for a dram with plenty of maturity and character, but in a gentle, delicate format. Sweet up front, with corn immediately grabbing your attention. It then oozes butter cream, dark caramel, and brown sugar; midpalate focuses more on the grain as the flavor becomes toasty, fruity and honeyed, with some raisin, vanilla cream, and toffee. Ends honey sweet, decadent and maple-like.

Well the Decanter is super cool but as for the whiskey, I was unimpressed especially for a 15 Kentucky bourbon, just came across Mediocre , it wasn’t bad but felt watered down and lack of depth , I don’t regret buying but wouldn’t buy again.
I was hesitant to buy this bourbon as I had heard mixed reviews. I decided to take a chance anyways and was pleasantly surprised.
The nose on this bourbon is phenomenal. It’s bright, oaky, with a lot of caramel and vanilla notes.
The nose leads right into the palate. Those same notes are present and balanced throughout. It’s got the flavor but the mouthfeel is a little thin and the flavor doesn’t last as long as I would like.
I really did enjoy this bottle even though I wish it was at cask strength so it lasted on my palate a little longer.

Enjoyed this one early on in my exploration of bourbons. These days it's hard for it to compete with some higher proof options in this price range. A 15 year **** Creek has much more flavor and fuller mouthfeel. That said, this is a nice bottle presentation and good to have one on your shelf for sharing with people who prefer lower proof.
