Product details
This botanical gin hails from Kagoshima, Japan, home to both the Komasa Gin Distillery and a tiny type of local mandarin orange called the Sakurajima komikan. Sakurajima is the name of an active volcano in Kagoshima and is where these oranges grow in its volcanic soils and reach sizes of about 4cm in diameter. Each ripe fruit is packed with a mellow fragrance and the thick, sweet taste of citrus. Komasa Sakurajima Komikan Gin is crafted with generous amounts of these fragrant oranges, resulting in a bright, gentle spirit that truly shines with fresh notes of citrus. Bottled at 49% abv.
A transcendent choice for modern Martinis, including this stellar spin on the formula that pairs it with classic Dolin Dry and the divine bergamot flavored Italicus liqueur.

This Gin has become a favourite of mine. It has a nice citrus taste which is the orange with a nice smooth tasty finish. Not too heavy but very subtle. I like to drink straight so that I can get the flavour, and then will find a nice cocktail to make with it. Definitely recommend. Pricey yes, but tasty.
I was led to this little bottle by Minch (sp.), who spent a lot of time with me and drew my attention to many nice bottles when I was finally able to visit the store recently. This is a lovely, fragrant, citrusy gin, really elegant and lively. I've enjoyed it as a simple GT and also in a martini with a rose vermouth, Istine Rosato, another recommendation from Minch. The Komasa is a bit pricey for a 375ml bottling, but no regrets on buying it and enjoying it!
Great Gin smooth and great flavor, a bit on the expensive side but worth the money
