Old Forester 1910 Old Fine Whisky Bourbon

Such a nice pour. It's approachable, great nose and sweet finish. Yeah, the 1920 is also great but too hot for me without a big Ice ball. The 1910 is just so easy!

Very dark in color, almost like Coca Cola and bold on the nose and palate. Very sweet and woody. Tons of flavor for the lowish proof. If you like bold and unique bourbons you may love this but it's not my cup of tea.

Mostly woody oaky flavor with some fruit-cherry/bananas, vanilla taste, but the fruit and vanilla is not as much as the 1920 Prohibition Style. This particular offering gets finished in new toasted barrels similar to the recent offerings of Michters toasted barrel, Woodford double oaked, and Elijah Craig Toasted Barrel. If you like toasted barrel series of bourbon, with heavy oak, definitely give this a try. Oaky bitterness seems to overpower the other flavors in my opinion. Smells way better than it tastes.

Like the online reviews say, this bourbon is rich, predominately tasting of vanilla and caramel. It works well straight or over ice, in a Manhattan or an Old Fashioned. Less complex than the Old Forester 1920. Try an ounce and a half of 1910 over ice with a half an ounce of BG Reynolds Fassionola syrup stirred in.

Why I did not pick up at least 3 bottle of this fine bourbon I’ll never know .. this is by far a new favorite.. i hope it comes back into stock , if it does I’ll buy it all up unless you beat me to it !
