Product details
This 115 proof expression is the third release in the Whiskey Row series and celebrates the brand’s continued distillation during Prohibition. For 13 years, the production, transport and sale of alcohol was strictly prohibited. However, Old Forester was granted a permit to continue distilling on Louisville’s Whiskey Row. The 115 proof expression represents a barrel sample that company president Owsley Brown I would have batched at the beginning of Prohibition.
NOSE: An intense medley of cherry preserves, drippy caramel, dark chocolate, thickened maple syrup and seasoned oak spiciness.
TASTE: Dark caramel coats layers of malt nuttiness and sweet graham cracker all warmed by green peppercorn and coriander spice brightened with a hint of cedar.
FINISH: Tart apple crispness gives way to a long smoky finish full of toasted marshmallow, chocolate and graham cracker sweetness.
- One of the few bourbons I will always have a bottle on hand.
- Drinks much easier than it's 115 proof with some fruit on the nose. Highly recommended!
- Flavorful notes throughout and definite daily sipper. Affordable option.

I thought it was great
Flavorful notes throughout and definite daily sipper. Affordable option and one to consider trying if you are exploring bourbons.
One of the few bourbons I will always have a bottle on hand. I drink it neat when I want something with some more body to it while still being sweet and approachable. But more commonly, in the summer this is my favorite to drink with a big ice ball, holds up great to the ice without losing the flavor or the body. Can't recommend enough.
The OF 1920 drinks much easier than it's 115 proof with some fruit on the nose, and graham cracker sweetness on the palate, the finish is medium with almost no ethanol burn. Highly recommeneded!
I've been pretty pleased overall with the Distiller's Row series from Old Forester. The 1920 and the 1897 are by far my top two. Fairly high proof, but that doesn't necessarily translate to lot of heat or alcohol burn-- instead, nice dark, rich and sweet flavors prevail. I'll definitely circle back to this one.
This a solid high-proof bourbon that's easy to find and is also a good value. It has a strong and deep rich flavor that will satisfy most experienced bourbon drinkers. The only reason I don't give it five stars is that there are a couple other bourbons out there in it's price range, such as EJBP, that I like a little bit better.
One of the salespeople at the store suggested the 1920 as my first purchase in the Bourbon world and he could not have been more spot on. Still one of my favorites, as I try others this will be my staple
No recipe needed... Just try it neat!
This one is a great pour for the money.
Highly recommend.

This bourbon is well worth a try especially for the price. Really good! Buy it!
By far this is my favorite in OF's whiskey row series. Highly recommend
