Pinhook Vertical Series 10 Year "Bourbon War" Bourbon

Pinhook's innovative Vertical Series allows drinkers to follow a group of barrels as they age from 4 to 16 years, tasting how they change over time.  Distilled at MGP in Indiana from a mash bill of 75% corn, 20.5% rye and 4.5% malted barley, these barrels were aged in Kentucky for 10 years before bottling at a barrel proof 115.9. The nose features bakery scents of brown sugar, cinnamon, brown butter, and caramel with a backbone of aged oak. On the palate, classic bourbon notes of vanilla, caramel, mature oak, rye spice, and baking spices give way to a lengthy finish of leather, oak, and warming spice.
