VBP Points AuctionDistilled on the pot still of Jamaica's Clarendon distillery in 1998, this rum aged patiently in the tropical heat for 21 years before being brought to France to age another 6 years in Ferrand Cognac casks. It is at once bold and elegant, opening with orange zest and tobacco, with layers of passion fruit, grapefruit zest, and juicy apricot. Alongside all that fruit is the long years in oak - rosemary, cedar, and clove sit above a faint hint of leather that broods but never overtakes the brighter notes. Bottled at 52% abv.
