Rancho Tepua Blanco Bacanora
Bacanora is a regional mezcal from the northwestern state of Sonora, made from a regional varietal of the Agave Angustifolia Haw, variously called Agave pacifica, or Agave Bacanora, locally. Production methods can be extremely rustic, though in the current period, most Bacanora is made along the lines of artisanal mezcal. Rancho Tepua is made by the Contreras family, who established hidden distilleries at Rancho Tepúa to continue the tradition during Bacanora's prohibition. It is now distilled by a 5th generation Maestro Bacanorero.
