Wild Turkey, located in Lawrenceburg, Kentucky, is an absolute institution in the world of American whiskey. The modern version of Wild Turkey was named in 1940 but the brand really took off after Master Distiller Jimmy Russel joined the distillery in 1954.
Russel’s Reserve is a small batch blend of 10 year old bourbon curated by Jimmy and Eddy Russel and bottled at 90 proof. The age of the whiskey shows in a musty, oaky nose with hints of vanilla and clove. The palate brings vanilla and caramel sweetness followed by peppery spice. On the finish, the rich oak once again shines.
