Blending vintages of their high rye mash bill to achieve this flavor profile at a high proof creates a delicate balance between creamy mouthfeel, tannins and sugars for a magical end result. Older vintages have more evaporation, which means a higher concentration of fats and sugars per ounce, which gives them a nice creamy mouthfeel as well as caramel and honey goodness. They also have more tannins because alcohol has been in contact with the wood for longer. A lot of what some perceive as alcohol burn is actually a harshness due to tannins. This can counterbalance the benefit gained by the high concentration of lipid esters insulating your pallet from alcohol heat. There needs to be enough of the older bourbon for the oak flavors and mouthfeel, but also some younger ones to cut back on the tannins and bring in some delicate fruit and caramel flavors. Proof varies by batch, between 56% and just over 58% abv.

My favorite of all the Smoke Wagons which is becoming one of my favorite bourbons! Very unique flavor and easy to enjoy neat even with the higher proof.
Been a huge fan of this bottle that is very hard to track down.BandB does a great job at keeping these in stock. Small Batch is a great backup. Easily can say that each batch that I seem to get is better each time. Always consistent and can’t complain about anything.
The hype is real on this one! Thick and syrupy, packed with flavor but not hot even at 57%. Tons of molasses, brown sugar, cinnamon, pie crust, red fruit and oak. A winner.

Sooooo buttery and fruity with nice spice on the finish. High proof bourbon that usually drinks lower. Will always have a bottle on my shelf if I can find it!
Really enjoy batch 94! Classic burnt sugar notes with some fruitier notes, sweet oak, butterscotch and a long rich finish! Highly recommend grabbing a bottle if you like your bourbon's bold and fruity!

Smoke Wagon UCUF is a fantastic expression of MGP for a great price. Belle Meade Cask Strength used to be my go to when craving the MGP profile. Now this one has replaced it. Search this one out and buy it whenever you see it online or on the shelf!
Smooth as butter for the proof. Nice rye spice finish. If you see SW on the shelf, buy it. There’s magic happening in Vegas with these barrels.
Truthfully it was excellent and often times exactly what I'm craving, but Elijah craig barrel proof is around the same price, and to me blows it away at this price point
