The Daytime

Drinking in the daytime is the ultimate power move. I'm not an alcoholic - you're a prude. But getting out the big guns - whiskey, gin, tequila, etc. - can feel a bit rich with the sun directly overhead. Thus the spritz and co., which have taken over our collective culture in recent year, have led to a kind of moving of the goalposts when it comes to acceptable daytime imbibing. If there are bubbles in the glass, no trouble comes to pass.
