Master's Keep Beacon features a blend of 10 year old and 16 year old bourbon barrels that unites three generations of the legendary Russell distilling family. The 16 year old bourbon was produced at the original, pre-expansion distillery under current Wild Turkey Master Distiller Eddie Russell, who also selected the barrels for this blend. The 10 year old bourbon was produced by Eddie's son, current Wild Turkey Associate Master Blender Bruce Russell under the supervision of his grandfather (Eddie's father), bourbon legend Jimmy Russell. The blend was bottled at a hefty 118 proof.
The nose is heavy with rich caramel and earthy tobacco scents, along with notes of candied orange peel, mature oak, toffee, and leather. The palate brings rich, oaky flavors of vanilla bean, tobacco, cherry, apricot, cola, and citrus. A long, robust finish weaves together brown sugar, oak, root beer, and white pepper spice. Just as good or better than the recent Russell's Reserve 15, Master's Keep Beacon is a strong contender for best whiskey of 2025
